1. About These Terms
Welcome to aboutlearning.com (the "Site"), operated by About Learning, Inc. ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Site, our courses, assessments, software, or any related services (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and About Learning, Inc.
Korea/APAC Regional Operations Partner: Paul & Mark Co., Ltd. provides regional support, localization, and operations services in Asia-Pacific under authorization from About Learning, Inc.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or purchase any Service. If you are under 18, you may use the Services only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
3. Accounts
To purchase courses or assessments, you must create an account. You agree to:
Provide accurate, current, complete information.
Keep your password confidential and not share your account.
Notify us immediately at info@aboutlearning.com if you suspect unauthorized use.
Take responsibility for all activity under your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Purchases, Pricing, and Payment
4.1 Pricing
All prices are listed in U.S. Dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated. Current prices are displayed on each product page and at checkout. Taxes and applicable fees may be added depending on your location.
4.2 Payment Processing
Payments are securely processed by Stripe. About Learning, Inc. does not store full credit card numbers on its servers.
4.3 One-Time Purchases
Most courses and assessments are sold as one-time purchases. You will not be charged again unless you initiate a new purchase. Free preview courses are provided at no cost and do not automatically convert into paid courses or paid subscriptions.
4.4 Promotional Offers
Promotional offers, discounts, or coupons may be offered from time to time. Any promotional terms, including eligibility, duration, limitations, and expiration, will be displayed at the point of offer or checkout.
4.5 aboutlearning.ai
aboutlearning.ai may be referenced or linked as a separate service. Purchases, subscriptions, cancellations, and refunds for aboutlearning.ai are governed by the policies displayed on the aboutlearning.ai website or its separate checkout provider.
5. Course and Assessment Access
5.1 License Granted
Upon successful payment, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the purchased course or assessment for your personal or professional learning, subject to these Terms.
5.2 Access Duration
Self-paced courses: lifetime access from the date of purchase, unless otherwise specified.
Live webinar cohorts: access to recordings remains available for at least 12 months from the cohort start date.
Assessments: report access is permanent; one-time submission per purchase.
5.3 Restrictions
You may not:
Share, resell, or redistribute course materials, assessment reports, or AI-generated content publicly without written permission.
Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract source materials.
Use About Learning content to train competing AI models or build competing services.
Use the Services for any unlawful purpose.
Share, resell, transfer, or use access codes by multiple users unless expressly permitted in writing.
6. Intellectual Property and Trademarks
All content on the Site — including the 4MAT® method, the Learning Type Measure (LTM)®, HMI, TSI, course videos, written materials, assessment reports, software — is owned by About Learning, Inc. or licensed to us, and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
4MAT®, About Learning®, and Learning Type Measure (LTM)® are registered trademarks of About Learning, Inc. HMI and TSI are also marks of About Learning, Inc. Use of any mark without prior written permission is prohibited.
7. User Content
If you submit assignments, comments, forum posts, or other content through the Services, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and store that content solely for the purpose of operating the Services. You retain ownership of your original work.
You agree not to submit content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, harassing, or that contains personal data of others without consent.
8. Assessment and Certification Disclaimers
8.1 Assessment Disclaimer
4MAT assessments, including LTM, HMI, and TSI, are educational self-assessment tools designed to support learning, teaching, communication, and instructional design. They are not medical, psychological, legal, clinical, employment, or professional licensing diagnostic tools.
8.2 Certification Disclaimer
Certificates confirm completion of the applicable course only. They do not represent government accreditation, academic credit, professional licensure, or authorization to use About Learning trademarks beyond the level expressly granted.
Levels 2 and 3 certifications, when offered, may impose additional responsibilities including a written agreement with About Learning, Inc. for use of the trademarks and assessments inside or outside an organization.
9. Refunds
Our refund policy is set out in detail at Refund Policy. By purchasing, you acknowledge and agree to that policy.
10. Digital Delivery
All products sold on aboutlearning.com are digital education products. Delivery and access are governed by our Digital Delivery Policy. No physical product will be shipped.
11. Disclaimers
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. While we work hard to keep the Services accurate and useful, we do not warrant that:
Specific learning outcomes will be achieved.
The Services will be uninterrupted or error-free.
The Services will meet every specific need or context.
The 4MAT method is an educational framework. Results vary based on individual effort, context, and application. The Services are not a substitute for professional advice in fields such as psychology, medicine, or law.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, About Learning, Inc., its officers, employees, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Services.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the specific Service that gave rise to the claim during the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless About Learning, Inc. and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Services.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without cause, including for violations of these Terms. Upon termination, your license to use the Services ends, and provisions that by their nature should survive (intellectual property, limitation of liability, governing law) will survive.
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting info@aboutlearning.com.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top will reflect the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated via email or a clear notice on the Site at least 30 days before they take effect, except when changes are required by law or for security reasons. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Lake County, Illinois, except where prohibited by your local consumer protection law.
For users in the European Union, the United Kingdom, and South Korea, mandatory consumer protection laws of your jurisdiction continue to apply.
