This Privacy Policy describes how About Learning, Inc. ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use aboutlearning.com and related services (the "Services").
Korea/APAC Regional Operations Partner: Paul & Mark Co., Ltd. supports regional services and customer support under authorization from About Learning, Inc. and processes data only on our behalf.

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
Account Information: name, email address, password (hashed), profile photo (optional), country.
Purchase Information: billing name, billing address, last four digits of payment card, transaction history. Full card numbers are processed and stored by Stripe, not by us.
Course and Assessment Data: answers you submit to assessments (LTM, HMI, TSI), assignments, quiz responses, forum posts.
Communications: any message, email, support ticket, or feedback you send to us.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
Device and Usage Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, referring URL, pages visited, time spent, click activity.
Cookies and Similar Technologies: see Section 6.
Course Progress: which lessons you've watched, quiz scores, time on task.
2.3 Information from Third Parties
Payment processors (Stripe): payment status, fraud-prevention signals.
Analytics and advertising platforms: aggregated usage and conversion data.
Email service providers: bounces, opens, click-throughs.

5. Service Providers (How Your Data Flows)

LearnWorlds — course hosting, account management, learning platform
Stripe — payment processing
Google Analytics 4 — site analytics
Meta Pixel — analytics, advertising and conversion measurement
Zapier — workflow automation between tools
Email tools provided by LearnWorlds — transactional and marketing email
We may also use Mailchimp or similar email marketing tools in the future where permitted by law and with appropriate consent.
These providers are bound by confidentiality and may not use your data for their own purposes. We do not sell your data to any of them or to third parties.
Single Sign-On (SSO): Not currently in use. May be enabled in the future and will be disclosed at that time.
6. Cookies and Marketing Consent
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
Keep you logged in.
Remember preferences (language, theme).
Measure traffic and feature usage (analytics).
Run targeted promotions.
In regions where consent is required, analytics, advertising, and marketing cookies will be used only with appropriate consent.

7. Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as needed:
Account data: for the life of your account, plus 12 months after closure (legal/audit purposes).
Purchase records: at least 7 years (tax compliance).
Course progress and assessment results: while your account is active; deleted on request unless required by law.
Marketing data: until you unsubscribe, plus a short suppression record.
8. Security
We implement reasonable safeguards: encryption in transit (TLS), hashed passwords, access controls, vendor security reviews. No system is 100% secure. If we ever experience a breach affecting your data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate data
Delete your data
Restrict or object to certain processing
Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
Withdraw consent at any time
Opt out of marketing emails (each email has an unsubscribe link)
To exercise any right, email info@aboutlearning.com with subject line "Privacy Request" and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first.
For California (CCPA), Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah (and other U.S. state privacy laws) users — these rights apply, including the right to know what categories of information we collect and to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" (we do neither). California residents may designate an authorized agent.
For South Korea (PIPA) users, the same rights apply. You may file a complaint with the Personal Information Protection Commission (PIPC) if your concern is not resolved.
10. International Data Transfers
We are based in the United States, with operations partnership in South Korea. By using the Services, you understand that your data may be transferred to, processed in, and stored in countries other than your own. Where required by law, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
11. Children's Privacy
The Services are not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact info@aboutlearning.com and we will delete it promptly.
12. Third-Party Links
The Site may link to external sites (e.g., aboutlearning.ai, shop.4mat.org, social media). This Privacy Policy applies only to aboutlearning.com. Other sites have their own policies — please review them.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be announced by email or a clear notice on the Site at least 30 days before taking effect, unless required sooner by law.
